Adopted by Borough Council · October 13, 2025
Council adopted Resolution No. 2025-06, formally affirming the Borough’s commitment to the federal Fair Housing Act as it administers its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The Fair Housing Act bars discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, and familial status.
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — Robert Dollar, Ken Patterson, David Snyder, Sarah Hunter, Tammy Wills, William Wiser.
Adopting a fair-housing policy is a routine condition of receiving CDBG money, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development funding that flows to Pennsylvania communities through the state Department of Community & Economic Development. In Tyrone, CDBG dollars help support work such as the Borough’s housing rehabilitation program. The resolution keeps the Borough eligible to continue putting those funds to use.
