Adopted by Borough Council · October 10, 2022
Council approved submitting the Borough’s FY2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application, the annual step that keeps federal community-development dollars flowing to Tyrone. CDBG, a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development program, helps smaller communities pay for housing and neighborhood improvements that primarily benefit lower-income residents. The Borough runs its program under a Cooperative Agreement with Blair County, which administers the funds.
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — David Snyder, Ken Patterson, William Wiser, Sarah Hunter, Rob Poust. Absent: Robert Dollar, Charles Mills.
This year’s application is associated with the Borough’s ongoing housing rehabilitation work and the continued demolition of the property at 822-824 Washington Avenue. The resolution was adopted as No. 2022-06; the minutes also list it as “2202-06” in the motion text, an apparent typo for the same resolution. Residents can learn more about the program through HUD’s Community Development Block Grant program and Pennsylvania DCED’s CDBG program.
On record: Resolution No. 2022-06 is part of the public meeting record at the Borough Office, 1100 Logan Avenue. Learn more about Pennsylvania DCED’s CDBG program.
