At its May 11, 2026 meeting, Council awarded the Borough’s 2026 street paving program to the low bidder, Grannas Bros., at $154,205.35. The Borough opened three bids for the work on May 6:
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — Robert Dollar, Sarah Hunter, Debbie Kann, Ken Patterson, Bridgette Gill, William Wiser, Mayor John Harlow. Absent: Tammy Wills.
The Borough repaves a set of streets each year to keep its road surfaces in good condition and to extend the life of the underlying roadway. Awarding to the lowest responsible bid is the standard way municipalities keep this work competitive and hold down the cost to taxpayers. Questions about street work can be directed to the Highway Department or the Borough Office at 1100 Logan Avenue, (814) 684-1330.
