At its April 8 meeting, Council granted two requests from the Tyrone Improvement Group (TIG). The first gives TIG permission to hang Veteran banners downtown from Memorial Day through Veteran’s Day. The second is a donation of up to $1,500 to refresh the downtown flower baskets with new flowers and fresh dirt, to be purchased from Leidig’s Farm.

In favor: all members present — Robert Dollar, Ken Patterson, David Snyder, Tammy Wills, Rob Poust. Absent: Sarah Hunter, William Wiser.
Both measures support the volunteer effort to keep Tyrone’s downtown looking cared-for through the summer and into the fall, while honoring local Veterans through the warmer months.
