Council agreed to put up to $2,000 toward electrical improvements at the park, a request from the Tyrone Improvement Group (TIG) connected to its Lights in the Park event. The group had already paid for earlier electrical upgrades by Reeder Electric — about $1,700 last year — and is working through a four-year plan to improve the park.
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — Robert Dollar, Ken Patterson, David Snyder, Tammy Wills, William Wiser. Absent: Sarah Hunter, Rob Poust.
Because the request was not listed on the meeting agenda, Mayor Latchford invited public comment before the vote; no one spoke. The funding helps make sure the park has the power capacity needed for seasonal lighting and other community events.
On record: this funding action is part of the public meeting record at the Borough Office, 1100 Logan Avenue. Borough park rules are codified in Chapter 140, Parks & Recreation of the Tyrone Borough Code.
