A motion to donate $500 to the Tyrone Improvement Group for the Lights in the Park event did not pass at the August 10, 2026 Council meeting.
Among its requests for the event, the Tyrone Improvement Group had asked the Borough for a cash donation of $2,500. During discussion it was noted that the Borough already provides the facility and electricity for the event and pays Borough employees overtime for maintenance, locking and unlocking, plowing, and other work the event requires. A motion for a $500 donation was then moved and seconded, and failed on a roll call vote.
Motion failed 3–3
In favor: Bridgette Gill, Sarah Hunter, and Debbie Kann. Opposed: Robert Dollar, Ken Patterson, and Mayor John Harlow. Abstained: Tammy Wills. William Wiser was absent.
