Adopted by Borough Council · April 13, 2026
The Borough has a new top administrator. At its April 13, 2026 meeting, Council adopted Ordinance No. 1498 appointing Kimberly D. Gurekovich as Borough Manager at an annual salary of $96,000.
Adopted 7–1
In favor: Dollar, Hunter, Kann, Patterson, Wills, Wiser, Mayor Harlow. Opposed: Gill.
Under Tyrone’s Home Rule Charter, the Borough Manager is the chief administrative officer who carries out the policies Council sets. The role covers day-to-day operations across departments — staffing, budget preparation, oversight of public works, water and sewer service, and the other functions that keep the Borough running between monthly Council meetings. Because Tyrone is a Home Rule community, Council appoints the Manager directly by ordinance, which is why this hire took the form of a formal vote rather than a routine personnel action.
The appointment followed public comment and discussion, and the ordinance was adopted by a 7–1 vote.
With the appointment confirmed, Gurekovich takes on the administrative direction of Borough government at the set salary of $96,000. Residents with questions about the Borough Manager’s office — or who want to raise a concern directly — can reach the Borough Office at 1100 Logan Avenue, (814) 684-1330, and Council’s discussion of the appointment is part of the public record of the April meeting.
