Appointments · April 13, 2026
Responding to a request from the Blair County Planning Commission for municipal-official volunteers, Council on April 13 appointed Council member Bridgette Gill to the county’s Hazard Mitigation Committee and Mayor John Harlow to its Government Advisory Committee. The mayor’s seat had previously been held by former Mayor Latchford. Gill and Mayor Harlow each abstained from voting on their own appointments. Council member Bob Dollar continues to represent the Borough on the Stormwater Management Committee.

In favor: Wiser, Dollar, Hunter, Kann, Patterson, Wills. Abstained: Gill, Mayor Harlow.
Participation on the Hazard Mitigation Committee is more than a courtesy: a municipality must take part in the county’s hazard-mitigation planning to remain eligible for FEMA disaster funding. The seats keep Tyrone at the table as Blair County coordinates emergency preparedness, intergovernmental policy, and stormwater management across its boroughs and townships.
