Adopted by Borough Council · December 12, 2022
Borough Council adopted the Borough of Tyrone’s final budget for 2023 at its December 12 meeting, formally setting aside the sums estimated to be needed to run municipal government through the year. As a Home Rule municipality, Tyrone enacts its annual spending plan by ordinance — Ordinance No. 1463 in this case — appropriating money for the specific purposes of Borough operations for 2023.
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — David Snyder, Robert Dollar, Rob Poust, William Wiser. Absent: Charlie Mills, Sarah Hunter, Ken Patterson.
The budget is the financial blueprint behind everyday services such as police, the highway department, water and sewer, and code enforcement. It carries the force of law once adopted, and any spending during the year must fall within the appropriations Council approves.
