Proclamation · March 11, 2024
Mayor William Latchford opened the March 11, 2024 Council meeting by presenting a proclamation to Sue Griep, President of the Irish Heritage Committee, recognizing the community’s annual Irish Heritage Celebration. The week of festivities ran March 11 through 17, 2024, timed to St. Patrick’s Day.
A mayoral proclamation is a ceremonial statement that honors an event, group, or cause; it does not change Borough law or require a Council vote, and none was taken here. The recognition acknowledges the volunteers of the Irish Heritage Committee and the role their celebration plays in Tyrone’s civic and cultural calendar.
On record: the proclamation is part of the public meeting record kept at the Borough Office, 1100 Logan Avenue, (814) 684-1330.
