Borough Property · July 13, 2026
The Borough’s retired K9 vehicle — a 2019 Ford Interceptor (Explorer) with about 48,000 miles — was sold to the City of Altoona for $10,000 by unanimous vote at the July 13, 2026 meeting.
The vehicle drew interest before it was listed: the Duncansville Borough Police Department requested it be donated, and the Blazing Arrow Hook & Ladder Fire Company also expressed interest. At its June 8 meeting, Council opted instead to put the vehicle out for public bid. Three bids were opened on July 7 — $2,200, $1,280, and the City of Altoona’s high bid of $10,000.
Approved unanimously
In favor: all Council members present — Robert Dollar, Debbie Kann, Ken Patterson, and Bridgette Gill. Absent: Sarah Hunter, Tammy Wills, and William Wiser.
