Council voted to enter into an agreement with the Blair County Planning Commission committing the Borough to take part in the planning process for the 2023 update of the Blair County Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan. A hazard mitigation plan inventories the risks a community faces — flooding, severe storms, and other natural and man-made hazards — and lays out actions to reduce future damage. Federal law requires a county to keep an approved, current plan for its municipalities to remain eligible for many FEMA hazard-mitigation grants, so participating now keeps Tyrone in line for that funding.
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — Robert Dollar, Tammy Wills, David Snyder, Ken Patterson, William Wiser. Absent: Charlie Mills, Sarah Jane Miller.
