Adopted by Borough Council · October 14, 2024
Bicycles that ended up in the Borough’s possession and were never reclaimed by their owners will go to Bible Baptist Church of Tyrone, under Resolution No. 2024-03, which Council adopted at its October 14 meeting.
Adopted unanimously
In favor: all members present — Robert Dollar, Sarah Hunter, Rob Poust, David Snyder, Tammy Wills, Ken Patterson. Absent: William Wiser.
Municipalities periodically accumulate unclaimed property — bicycles recovered or turned in to the Police Department are a common example. When the owner cannot be located after a reasonable effort, Council can formally authorize the items’ disposal by resolution rather than letting them sit indefinitely. Here, that disposal takes the form of a donation to a local church, putting serviceable bikes back into use in the community.
On record: Resolution No. 2024-03 is part of the public meeting record at the Borough Office, 1100 Logan Avenue.
